What do you wish you knew about your market?

Start with a practical question about competitors, customers, pricing, or opportunities. It does not need to be perfectly framed.

A strong first question is:

  • specific
  • connected to a decision you are actually facing
  • answerable with external evidence
  • narrow enough for a fixed-scope baseline
  • useful even if the answer is imperfect

Weak: "What are our competitors doing?"

Strong: "What service promises are our five main competitors making on their websites and during the quote process today?"
